In our third episode of EV Universe’s podcast, Plug In For More!, Mike, Bryant and Tom dive into the subject of regenerative braking and one pedal driving.

But first, the gang starts out on the subject of roads that charge your EV while driving on them. Electreon is one of the key players in this space. They’re working on rolling out this technology in various infrastructure projects across the world. It’s still early going, but the PIFM team chats about how this could be a game-changer for EV owners and potential EV buyers who might still have “range anxiety.”

Next, they go around the room about what motivated them to switch from gas-powered cars to electric cars. Bryant talks about how EVs are geared towards performance with great acceleration and control. He’s also a big fan of how little maintenance is required for electric cars. Tom adds his vote for the novelty and tech side of EVs, along with the savings, considering gas prices these days.

The episode closes with a discussion on one pedal driving, a feature you’ll find in Tesla, Ford Mach-E and other EV models. The team digs deeper into:

  • How does regenerative braking and one pedal driving work?
  • What was the team’s reaction after experiencing one pedal driving?
  • What are other advantages of the regenerative braking feature?
